En 1986 Edgar Garavito Pardo escribió un artículo en homenaje a Michel Foucault, quien había muerto dos años antes, y que fue titulado De la parrhesía o el decir-verdad. En este escrito el colmbiano asume el decir-verdad como una línea de fuga que tiende a la autenticidad de los valores por más confrontaciones que exista con el poder, pues el decir-verdad es el decir verdad de lo que uno es, hace y piensa sin dejarse coaccionar por los convencionalismo políticos, mediáticos (...) e identitarios, y en ese sentido, para Garavito el decir-verdad como “actitud podría salvar a Colombia”, es decir, salvaguardar la democracia desde una actitud democrática que se encuentra validada en virtud del actuar del filósofo. El decir-verdad permite que la vida y la política coincidan a través de un lenguaje liberado, anárquico y transcursivo. Desde un ejercicio hermenéutico crítico, usado de manera filosófica, se aborda el autor para proponer una lectura original de la parrhesía de Edgar Garavito Pardo en relación con la transcursividad, que es el aspecto transformativo del lenguaje. El objetivo de este texto es una aproximación teórica de la infancia en las principales concepciones de la filosofía occidental, la nueva historia social de la infancia en el continente y las principales poéticas estéticas del cine latinoamericano durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Para este propósito se analizan las nociones de la infancia desde trabajos con un enfoque histórico-hermenéutico, de análisis crítico de discurso y evaluación de las nociones con base en los aportes de los campos teóricos abordados. Estos cruces permiten pensar los lugares de la infancia como instrumento para lograr un sueño político, las concepciones del tiempo, los derechos liberales de la Ilustración, y el acontecimiento fenomenológico. El fin de esta revisión crítica es un llamado a tejer líneas de fuga de la historia, a recrear mecanismos de resistencia audiovisual que apueste por una estética imperfecta, que desdibuje herencias, que marque procesos sociales en los que la infancia tenga una voz auténtica. Al enfocar la imagen de la infancia resulta crucial que el cine, más allá de mostrar realidades fácticas concretas, tenga un margen de ficción que aprovecha para darnos una poética sentimental de las infancias olvidadas y reinventar la estetización de las nuevas infancias en re-existencias autónomas desde la pluralidad de miradas del continente. The article analyzes the discursive establishment of the miracle in the religious sensibilities of the population of the Nuevo Reino de Granada, the Spanish American colony Empire, based in Bogota, during the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. He turned to the identification of miraculous events both in the territory as the reports and descriptions of them are made in relationships or travel diaries written by clerics of different regular and secular orders and a typology of the facts identified was performed. The methodology was oriented from three views of miracles: the discursive construction from the social appropriation of these phenomena, the popular acceptance of an unexpected event and symbolic configuration that these were in the process of social cohesion between this and other provinces of Nueva Granada territory; also four categories of miracles were identified: those of an image on itself, assistance, physical and thaumaturgic; these, in turn, were grouped as impersonal, individual or collective. Esta propuesta consiste en comprender dos nociones que aparecen esquivas en ambos filósofos, en la medida en que, en Lévinas, la corporalidad del sujeto es una remisión directa a Merleau-Ponty, sin embargo, se marca un énfasis en la expresión ética del rostro; mientras que en Merleau-Ponty se trata, más que todo, del fenómeno perceptivo del cuerpo, pero sus alusiones sobre el rostro tienen un sentido ético como el que desarrolla Lévinas. Por ello, es importante asumir una ética del rostro en (...) Merleau-Ponty; así como, del cuerpo en Lévinas. De ahí que es necesario pensar en qué sentido el rostro envuelve toda la dimensión del cuerpo; es decir, del “Otro encarnado-en el rostro”, como da cuenta de ello la correlación que tuvieron entre sí los contemporáneos Emmanuel Lévinas y Maurice Merleau-Ponty. This article studies the differences between traditional financial intermediaries (commercial banks, savings banks and cooperative banks) and ethical banks based on property rights, in which the owner decides the ideology, principles, standards and objectives of the organisation. In ethical banking, affinity centres on positive social and ethical values. The article consequendy focuses on an index proposed both to differentiate ethical banks from other types of banks, and also to pinpoint the differences between the various ethical banks themselves.This is the Radical (...) Affinity Index (RAI), which groups banks together in terms of their stance on ethical commitment, concentrating on ethical ideology and principles (information transparency, placement of assets, guarantees and participation) and using a sample of 114 European banks. The evidence shows that transparency of information and placement of assets are factors that differentiate ethical banks from other financial intermediaries.Guarantees and participation are characteristics specific to ethical banks; these variables, however, do not offer clear evidence to our analysis. Esta investigación se efectuó en ocho defensorías de la mujer (dos privadas y seis públicas) con el propósito de caracterizar los servicios que prestan las mismas y reflexionar sobre los mecanismos de prevención que efectúan contra de la violencia conyugal en el municipio de Sucre–Bolivia. La técnica de recolección de la información que se utilizó fue la entrevista semiestructurada. Los resultados del estudio giran en torno a tres grandes categorías: (1) servicios que brindan, (2) características de la población beneficiaria y (...) servicios que solicitan, y (3) características de las y los profesionales y de sus puestos de trabajo. Interest in ethical aspects associated to product acquisition and consumption is a growing trend among consumers. In this context, the concept of “product with ethical attributes” has arisen to refer to products with explicit social and environmental characteristics. However, one of the factors that most hinders the purchasing of these products is certainly price. Given the difficulty of reducing price, the question that arises is the extent to which other product attributes can attenuate the negative impact of price on perceived (...) value. We assume that the special benefits associated to this type of products are, at a different level, attenuators of the relationship between price and perceived value. Focusing on Fair Trade organic coffee, hypotheses are tested regarding survey data from 407 customers. They were interviewed in an actual purchasing scenario. The models are tested using conventional Structural Equation Models and the Latent Moderated Structural Equation method. The results obtained shed some light on a highly generalised belief that the marketing of these products can only be improved by reducing their price. However, although a price reduction could be desirable, albeit complicated in this product category, its effects could be reduced by acting on other variables such as the ethical aspects, quality and healthiness of this product category. Audiovisual communication is greatly contributing to the emerging research field of affective computing. The use of audiovisual stimuli within immersive virtual reality environments is providing very intense emotional reactions, which provoke spontaneous physical and physiological changes that can be assimilated into real responses. In order to ensure high-quality recognition, the artificial intelligence system must be trained with adequate data sets, including not only those gathered by smart sensors but also the tags related to the elicited emotion. Currently, there are very (...) few techniques available for the labeling of emotions. Among them, the Self-Assessment Manikin devised by Lang is one of the most popular. This study shows experimentally that the graphic proposal for the original SAM labelling system, as devised by Lang, is not neutral to gender and contains gender biases in its design and representation. Therefore, a new graphic design has been proposed and tested according to the guidelines of expert judges. The results of the experiment show an overall improvement in the labeling of emotions in the pleasure–arousal–dominance affective space, particularly, for women. This research proves the relevance of applying the gender perspective in the validation of tools used throughout the years. (shrink)

Este artículo describe la distribución del acento en palabras monomorfémicas elicitadas en cuatro zonas del cordón cordillerano de habla mapuche-pehuenche. Para ello, se analizaron las sílabas tónicas de palabras elicitadas a cuarenta y cuatro hablantes adultos bilingües de mapudungun-español. Se concluye lo siguiente: a) la acentuación del cordón cordillerano es mayoritariamente aguda; b) es posible establecer una relación entre el eje geográfico norte-sur y una disminución de la acentuación aguda; y c) la tendencia a que las sílabas pesadas atraigan el (...) acento, reportada por la literatura, se confirma con nuestro estudio. La realización de estudios sobre el acento léxico en otras zonas de habla mapuche ―con los cuales los resultados obtenidos en esta presentación se puedan comparar― es una proyección prominente de este estudio. El artículo explora el enfrentamiento conceptual entre los partidarios del muralismo mexicano, fundamentados en la estética marxista, y los partidarios de un arte moderno internacional, opuesto a todo contenido ideológico, liderados en Colombia por la crítica de arte Marta Traba. This article is mainly about two things: first, exploring the gatherings of studying in the university. And second, it is about describing new relations to understand studying practices beyond the normative interventions carried out inside learning environments and the clearly demarcated functions imposed to their practice. In a certain sense, common assumptions about study recognize its importance for achieving learning goals and its capacity to be designed according to pre-conceived intentions. However, in an attempt to reconsider our understanding about studying, (...) the basic arguments here is that studying practices are constituted by open-ended activities that are guided by present interests to things that matter. Based on Theodore Schatzki’s practice theory, activities of studying were observed through scenes, where students and study-materiality join together in the event of studying at the Agora Learning Centre of KU Leuven in Belgium. Adopting a particular sensibility and narrative to describe and attend to actions and material entities entangled on studying activities, the article attempts to take a look at these activities beyond their functionality. I try to establish how much of the underlying motivation for Weyl's position may be due to his acceptance of a phenomenological philosophical perspective. More specifically, I analyze Weyl's philosophical ideas in connexion with the work of Husserl, in particular "Logische Untersuchungen" and "Ideen I". En oposición al escepticismo declarado por Callender y Cohen respecto de la existencia de algún problema en torno a la representación científica, el objetivo de este artículo es mostrar un conjunto de características peculiares de la representación científica, aunque no exclusivas, que una teoría satisfactoria debe explicar. Estas son: la predicación, la posibilidad de ser una representación incorrecta, el razonamiento subrogatorio y la independencia entre el contenido y la denotación. Además, se argumenta que una teoría satisfactoria de la representación debe (...) ofrecer una definición de sus medios representacionales, es decir, de lo que es un modelo científico. Resumen El sujeto es negatividad, pero esto no es ninguna carencia o falta, al contrario, es potencia: La sustancia, su autocontracción en un punto vacío, es la singularidad como lo opuesto a la particularidad el sujeto es el poder de la negatividad. Así la negatividad del sujeto es eso que va más allá de cualquier sustancia particular. La negatividad de la que plantea este trabajo tomará la vía que se propone desde la propuesta del filósofo esloveno Zizek desde su apuesta (...) hegeliano- lacaniana. En esa propuesta ya no se trata de poder recuperar a ese Otro a como dé lugar, situación que podría explicar muchas de las manifestaciones subjetivas en el siglo XXI, donde el sujeto al pretender reactivamente taponar la inconsistencia del Otro, tapona la fisura de mismo del sujeto. La practica psicoanalítica desde la negatividad apuesta por un trabajo que bordee ese agujero, dicha práctica en vez de apuntar a un yo positivizado para llenar ese vacío constitutivo del sujeto, se apuesta por el vacío no sólo del sujeto sino del Otro para constituir un proyecto común donde la negatividad sea tratada desde un saber hacer que no la desconozca sino la enfrente. In this paper I suggest that in order to avoid some of the difficulties to which the contemporary discussion on the transcendental arguments has led we must discriminate different ways of understanding the sceptic’s challenge that Kant faces in the Critique of Pure Reason. In the first part, I expound a dilemma into which the Kantian epistemology could fall if we accept the characterization of the transcendental arguments as anti-sceptic arguments. In the first year of the twentieth century, in Gottingen, Husserl delivered two talks dealing with a problem that proved central in his philosophical development, that of imaginary elements in mathematics. In order to solve this problem Husserl introduced a logical notion, called “definiteness”, and variants of it, that are somehow related, he claimed, to Hilbert’s notions of completeness. Many different interpretations of what precisely Husserl meant by this notion, and its relations with Hilbert’s ones, have been proposed, but no (...) consensus has been reached. In this paper I approach this question afresh and thoroughly, taking into consideration not only the relevant texts and context, as others have also done before, but, more importantly, Husserl’s philosophy, his intuition-based epistemology in particular. Based on a system of clearly defined concepts that I here present, I reinforce an interpretation—definiteness as a form of syntactic completeness—that has, I believe, some advantages vis-à-vis alternative interpretations. It is in conformity with the available texts; it makes clear that Husserl’s notion of definiteness is indeed close to Hilbert’s notions of completeness; it solves the important problem of imaginaries for which it was created; and last, but not least, it fits naturally into Husserl’s system of concepts and ideas. I carry out in this paper a philosophical analysis of the principle of excluded middle. This principle has been criticized, and sometimes rejected, on the charge that its validity depends on presuppositions that are not, some believe, universally obtainable; in particular, that any well-posed problem is solvable. My goal here is to show that, although excluded middle does indeed rest on certain presuppositions, they do not have the character of hypotheses that may or may not be true, or matters of (...) fact that may or may not be the case. These presuppositions have, I claim, a transcendental character. Hence, the acceptance of excluded middle does not necessarily require, as some have claimed, an allegiance to ontological realism or some sort of cognitive optimism, construed as factual theses concerning the ontological status of domains of objects and our capability of accessing them cognitively. Esa es la pregunta a la cual este artículo intenta responder, para eso se realiza un breve recorrido histórico conceptual por algunas apuestas teórico-prácticas desde Freud, pasando por Lacan hasta pensadores contemporáneos. Se profundizó en algunas nociones de Slavoj Žižek, específicamente en su concepción materialista o lo que él mismo denomina «una refundación del materialismo dialéctico», donde se presenta una mezcla inconsciente no-toda. El presente artículo busca interrogar las formas y mecanismos que adoptan los procesos de politización en los sectores populares chilenos. Para ello, se analiza el caso del comité de vivienda “MPL- Franklin” organizado semanas después del pasado terremoto del 27 de Febrero del 2010. La tesis que se desarrolla versa sobre la necesidad de problematizar la relación entre subjetivación individual y subjetivación colectiva para comprender la politización de las demandas, en principio instrumentales, que articula el movimiento. A partir del concepto (...) de “afección política” se intenta reconstruir el vínculo entre la lucha por la vivienda y las trayectorias individuales de los vecinos miembros del comité. Las preguntas de investigación son las siguientes: ¿cómo se puede explicar la politización de ciertos individuos en un medio social donde la pasividad reina?; ¿cómo se puede comprender la afección de ciertos individuos por la política de cara a una desafección generalizada? The purpose of this investigation is to establish the interference of Artificial Intelligence in the legal field, with special attention to the legal decision. For this, a descriptive analysis of its use in judicial, administrative and legislative decisions is carried out addressing scenarios of substantive, procedural and probative law in order to solve the following legal question: Is artificial intelligence an instrument to adopt legal decisions or Is it a new entity that generates legal decisions? This question is developed taking (...) into account different sources of law, including judicial pronouncements, doctrine and legislation that develops the use of artificial intelligence, which are analyzed with government and state policies that have raised their incorporation into the field of law. This article argues that New Granadian and Co-lombian leaders examined models of material and intellectual progress in the United States and in their neighboring countries within the hemisphere. For many Spanish-Americans, the material progress already achieved by the United States and the North Atlantic overall was an idealized end, and they looked at some U.S. institutions as potential templates. As for the means to meet such an idealized end, influential people in New Granada and Colombia found among their neighboring countries (...) a more pragmatic set of experiences that would help them foster progress in their own right. Over the second half of the nineteenth century, and more acti-vely when turning into the twentieth, some Colombian leaders sought to follow the example of countries such as Argentina, one of the front-runners of Latin American contemporary progress. In this paper I argue for the view that structuralism offers the best perspective for an acceptable account of the applicability of mathematics in the empirical sciences. Structuralism, as I understand it, is the view that mathematics is not the science of a particular type of objects, but of structural properties of arbitrary domains of entities, regardless of whether they are actually existing, merely presupposed or only intentionally intended.
